My son took excellent photos of the Moon at each stage as the eclipse came by. The scenery was unique and interesting and there was so much to see and it was very wondrous. It was like a French amusement park everywhere at Panama City including the beach and we stayed at the Holiday terrace. That’s more than 647 years from now, so this was really an event of once in MANY generations.Īnd it was almost total as a bonus (with almost 98% of the Moon covered at its peak), so we knew it was special.
It was a partial one, but I was told it was the longest partial eclipse since Febru(and I was born in 1960 and am past 62 and my son’s almost 27 as I write this), and we won’t have a longer one than this til the 8th of February in 2669.
He told me all about the weather in Florida as the last few days leading up to this flew by and saw that from Tallahassee to New York would be in the clear zone for the weather during this historic lunar eclipse.
I’m using my son’s account as I write this and I went to see the Moon cross Earth’s shadow for the once in a lifetime lunar eclipse after knowing it was gonna be too cloudy for the rest of Florida, including my hometown, just north outside of Orlando.
